Hedieh Tehrani〔Hedyeh, meaning ''Gift'', is also transliterated as Hadyeh, Hadiyeh and Hediyeh. Although some pronounce ''Hedyeh'' (note the ''e'' instead of ''a''), the latter pronunciation is incorrect in Persian, as it is Arabic. ''Hedyeh'' should be pronounced as ''Hed'yeh''.〕 ((ペルシア語: هديه تهرانی), born 25 June 1972 in Tehran, Iran) is a Crystal Simorgh-winning Iranian actress.〔http://www.imvbox.com/cast/iranian/hediyeh-tehrani〕 She is most noted for willingness to play mysterious, stony-faced and cold-hearted women. She began her acting career with Masoud Kimiai's ''Soltan'' (1996). Hediyeh Tehrani received the second Crystal Simorgh of her career from the 24th Fajr International Film Festival, for ''Fireworks Wednesday''. In 2006 she appeared in Bahman Ghobadi's ''Niwemang''. The film received the Gold Shell of the 54th San Sebastián International Film Festival.

Mohammad Reza Sharifinia and Azita Hajian were the first ones to propose her a role for The Day of Incident. She auditioned for acting in Rooz-e Vaghe'e (aka ''The Day of Incident'') but refused to cooperate and the role went to Ladan Mostofi.〔http://www.cinemaema.com/modules.php?name=TWNews&file=newsview&sid=2117〕 Before acting in Sultan, she refused to play a part in ''Leila'' directed by Iranian director Dariush Mehrjui.
